About

I graduated from Aston University in 2017 with an honours degree in Biomedical Science, during which I completed my dissertation project focused on whether IL-21 could be used to enhance the T-cell co-stimulatory potential of glioblastoma multiforme cells. As part of this degree I also undertook a year in industry working for Cancer Research UK as a student Clinical Study Coordinator. Having enjoyed the research components of my undergraduate degree I decided to undertake a Masters of Research (MRes) in Cancer Studies at Newcastle University to further my research knowledge.

The research element of my MRes was titled ‘Regulation of the non-canonical NF-kB pathway through p100/p52 serine 222 phosphorylation’, which allowed me to develop an array of practical skills, inspiring me to apply for a technical position.

I joined the NFRG in October 2018 as a Research Technician to work for the commercial portion of the group: FibroFind.
